More Newsletter Round Up, Mansfield

The Rocky Ridge Review is the newsletter for members of the Laura Ingalls Wilder-Rose Wilder Lane Home Association, Mansfield, Missouri.

Though Rocky Ridge is the longest running home site, founded with the help of Rose Wilder Lane, a newsletter was not published until 1993.

My experience with obtaining back issues from Rocky Ridge is, that you can't. Either they haven't any back copies, and don't keep a master issue to make copies from, or they don't have a copier. I never received a response to my inquiry. I had to trade copies from another site for copies with another researcher.

As a side note, Rocky Ridge does not send tax receipts for monetary contributions, something to keep in mind when donating. The IRS no longer accepts your check as proof of contribution without a receipt from the organization stating the amount given. This again is my personal experience, my donations no longer go to the Mansfield site.

Headline articles are (for the copies that I have)

Wilder Home hosts Smithsonian Exhibition

Hey, Rocky Ridge, before you get all excited about hosting the Smithsonian, why don't you have a list of the photos in the Ingalls' photo album, and scans made of the photos so that the board doesn't have to waste time denying requests to turn the pages. If you don't have the resources to do that, fund raise, giving specifics of what you need the money for.

P.S. I hear that no one has ever opened the window seats. Well, duh.
